Macros

Above are my Macros, what to eat if I want to lose a moderate amount of weight, or a lot. To find out yours check out the Macro calculator below.
But I will tell you now I don't care about the Macros apart from keeping my carbs under 20 grams. The rest is about me listening to my body. I have to eat enough protein or I will have problems with my skin, hair and nails so I will NOT cut it back and I have no clue what moderate means. I take far more notice of the food I can't eat and I check the nutrition on everything I do eat. This is a pain in the arse especially as the writing is so tiny but I will do it until I know the nutrition off by heart.
I never worry about calories and I eat when I am hungry and stop when I am full. So, my only advice is Be kind to yourself, it is hard to trust yourself but you have too - you are amazing!
Here is a calorie, fat, protein and carb Calculator.
Food I do not eat
Any kind of Sugar - be aware there are 56 names for sugar that appear on the labels of processed food and 80% of all the food in the supermarket contain sugar. I am not eating any added sugar or other sugars like the white stuff, brown, honey, maple syrup, coconut sugar, fructose, glucose.
A lot of artificial sweeteners are actually other forms of sugar like sorbitol, mannitol, xylitol, maltitol, maltitol syrup, lactitol, erythritol, isomalt and hydrogenated starch hydrolysates. Frightening isn't it.
Skim Milk - Lactose is sugar
Grains - bread, corn chips, porridge, doughnuts, fried bread, biscuits, sushi, croissants, cake, pasta, polenta, rice etc etc etc
Root vegetables - potatoes, carrots, parsnips, beetroot, onions
Fruit - with the exception of a few berries
Processed food -basically anything in a tin or packet from the supermarket
Vegetable oils - soya bean, canola, sunflower oil etc Which means almost every mayonnaise and salad dressing in the supermarket.
Sauces - Watties Tomato sauce (actually every tomato sauce), chili sauce, brown sauce
I will keep adding to this list if stuff comes up...
Food I eat
Meat - all types, the fattier the better, make sure you can see the fat in it, also, this is where the flavour is.
Nuts - I like Walnuts and Almonds and I usually throw them in a salad for - as my son calls it - the surprising bomb of crunchiness
Dairy - Cheese, Butter, Cream
Olive Oil - you can also have coconut oil and avocado oil too, but it is expensive
Eggs - I can't afford the eggs where the chickens live in out in the fields and have holidays in France, I'm sorry, the karma for this will probably kill me for this but I just can't, so I eat any eggs that are the cheapest
Bacon - I know this is meat, but I think it is in a group of its own as I love it
Vegetables - Spinach, Lettuce, cucumber, tomato, spring onions, red and yellow peppers, cauliflower, broccoli, Pumpkin
Herbs and Spices - all of them
Almond meal - I use this for baking and thickening gravies and sauces etc
Equal sweetener - the tabs, in my coffee and when I need a little sweetness in pancakes etc.
Homemade sauces, dressings and Hollandaise
I will keep adding to this list as stuff comes up...
Take more notice of the food you shouldn't eat and check the labels on everything for sugar and carbs. I know this is a pain in the arse especially if you are as blind as me, but do it.
Don't worry about the calories and let yourself eat the fat, you have to, if you don't think you have enough fat in your food, put butter on it.
Eat when you're hungry.
Stop eating when you're full.
Be kind to yourself, this is hard and you are DOING it, you are amazing
